ADVISORY: COMSC 040 or equivalent
This course provides students with a general introduction to the basic concepts of computer networking technology. This includes networking concepts and definitions, hardware / software, protocols and services, server functions, designing, installing and administration. Students will also learn how to put together all the parts of the puzzle (hardware, software, service provider) needed to connect to the Internet. Includes configuring and using e-mail, World Wide Web, news groups, and file transfers.
